Overview

Brèche de Néouvielle and Trois Conseillers
Néouvielle, Trois Conseillers and Turon
Summit of Trois Conseillers

The Pic des Trois Conseillers (3.039m) is the highest summit of the ridge Turon de Néouvielle-Trois Conseillers but it's a less popular climb than the other main peak because the Turon de Néouvielle (3035m) is easier to climb. The ridge between both peaks it's not very difficult (F+) but it's very exposed in a bad terrain with small repises and a lot of small stones and it's only for mountaineers.

The name: due to three little elevations in the ridge to Turon de Neóuvielle. Some people say that stony formations are in the ridge of Néouvielle of same name (Trois Conseillers). Another people say that’s name of a “conseille” in the col of three important chiefs of the zone.

Routes:
1.-Across Brèche de Néouvielle: this important little col is between Néouvielle and Trois Conseillers and it’s possible to climb it from:
--North (Refuge de la Glere): F, in an area without paths with chaotic area of stones.
--South (Cap de Long): P.D.inf., the access is vertical and pronunced with some rock-climbs of II in bad walls.

2.-From Turon de Néouvielle: F+, it's a very exposed route but it's not difficult and it's a good idea to climb both summits in the same day from Refuge de la Glère.

3.-Ridge SE or Ferbos A.D. with rock-climbs of IV. The trailhead is on Cap de Long, but you can use Lac d'Aubert crossing Pas du Chat if you want to link this rock-climb with the famous ridge Trois Conseillers (A.D.inf.) of Néouvielle descending across its normal route.

Getting There

Approach to Barèges:

-Barèges is a small village in the west side of the famous Col du Tourmalet, between Luz-St-Saveur and Bagnères de Bigorre. The shorter access is from the highway to Tarbes. You take exit 12 to Lourdes, Argeles-Gazost, Pierrefitte, Luz-St-Saveur and barèges. Two km after Barèges is the road to Plateau de Lienz where the road ends and it begins the forest track of 4 km to the end in a small parking. The track follows but it's forbbiden to drive.

From this point you must walk 1h30m to Refuge de la Glère (2.150m).

Children

Children refers to the set of objects that logically fall under a given object. For example, the Aconcagua mountain page is a child of the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits.' The Aconcagua mountain itself has many routes, photos, and trip reports as children.
