Overview

Separated from Garmo Negro by a smal col (2936m) the ridge Algas- Argualas is a beautiful crest with 3 3000s of the Buyssé list (Algas 3033m, Algas N 3032m and Argualas 3046m) and one that isnt included on the list (Algas SE 3022m) but fulfils the rules to be considered a 3000.
Argualas is the summit that stands out over Balneario de Panticosa
area
.

It is interesting to do the full ridge route or, if you are physically and mentally prepared the 9 3000s of Panticosa in a long and hard day.

Getting There

Barcelona, Blbao, Zaragoza and San Sebastian are the most important towns near Baños de Panticosa. Im going to describe how to go to Baños de Panticosa from them:

From Bilbao

Take the motorway AP-68 to Vitoria. Some 15 km after the toll and before getting to the town, leave the motorway to take the A-10 to Pamplona. Then follow the signs direction Huesca, you won’t need to go through Pamplona. You’ll be on the N-240 which leads you to Liédena, Yesa, Jaca (all towns you will have to go through) and finally, Sabiñáñigo, where you will turn to the left to take the N-260 (direction Sallent de Gállego). 12 km after Biescas you will have to leave the road to Sallent de Gállego and turn right to Panticosa. Drive for 8 km. once you have gone past the Panticosa town and you will find the Balneario de Panticosa area.

From San Sebastián

Take the A-15 to Pamplona. You will then converge into the A-10 and follow the indications as when you are going from Bilbao (see above).

From Barcelona

Take the A-2 to Zaragoza and there from join the A-23 which leads you to Huesca and connects you with the N-330 to Sabiñáñigo. Go on to Biescas, and 12 km. after you have gone past this town, you will have to leave the road to Sallent de Gállego and turn right to Panticosa. Drive for 8 km. once you have gone past the Panticosa town and you will find the Balneario de Panticosa area.
