May 29th, 2005 - Looking at 13,290 ft Mt Daley from ca. 12,800 ft on K2's East Ridge.

...Mark. How high up did you guys get? How come you didn't summit? What did you think of Capitol Peak?

We got up to 12,900 ft on the class 4 west ridge of K2. People were feeling sketched with the exposure (and weren't used to dealing with loose rocks), so we went back down to the class 2 traverse on the snow, but it had warmed to slush by 8am! Cornices were actually starting to sluff off bits as we headed back! TR coming soon.



Capitol was great and I'd love to go back again - either to do one of the technical routes, or to do the east ridge via the class 4 variation up K2.
