The Tripple Traverse  Sucess!

Happy 4th of July  Sucess!

This one is rough! Did it as part of the Cottonwood Traverse, and wow it was a winner.

Wasn't really planning on it  Sucess!

I set out to do Sunrise Peak and didn't want to head back to the chute that I came up. Another two guys were doing the triple traverse and were super cool about letting me tag along while we went up Dromedary so I could get back down a safer route. Ended up being close to 12 hours on a double day

Wonderful Day for the Triple Traverse  Sucess!

Beautiful sunny skies, no wind, few people. Dromedary was fun to route find up. Definitely a challenge coming back down to Broads Fork, but still a great time.

Only a Twofer  Sucess!

I hit Dromedary coming from Sunrise. I was solo and had never done these mountains before. Route finding wasn't bad on Sunrise but Dromedary was kind of annoying. Getting to the top wasn't bad, but getting down I got cliffed out a few times and found myself in class 5 territory. I had to climb out of precarious spots several times where a slip would have meant certain death (especially with the thin layer of snow being a real pain). Eventually I made it over to a slabby area between the two ridgelines to the rock slide. I had another battle with moose on my way down, but that's a different story altogether.

Dromedary  Sucess!

Summited via the east ridge starting in Broads Fork. Planned on doing Sunrise too but struggled with route finding. Ended up cliffed out several times along the ridge and bailed out at the chute between Dromedary and Sunrise.

Did the Triple Traverse going up the Robinson Variation and down via Lake Blanche, which was a very rewarding and fun scramble. See "Good Things Come in Threes" trip report for details.

Triple Traverse  Sucess!

We started at Broad's Fork trailhead and did the Robinson route up the East Twin, then over to Sunrise and Dromedary and then down to Lake Blanche. It was a great day with perfect temperatures.

Solo Triple Traverse  Sucess!

Climbed over from Sunrise. Some class 3 scrambling over to Dromedary. Not bad. Good views from the summit! Unfortunately it started raining on my way down to Lake Blanche. It made the rock very slick and I couldn't find a good way down. Ended up in a very tricky situation that I was lucky to get out of. The best way to descend to Lake Blanche is probably the drainage or chute all the way to the left. It should take you to Lake Lillian. From there it's easy. Going to the right might also be a possibility. Going down the center is a bad idea, at least if it's wet.

Came over from Sunrise on a great Triple Traverse day. Descended down to Lake Blanche from a the first feasible chute after the summit.

Summer Solstice on Dromedary via NW Face  Sucess!

Started at Broad's Fork TH. Became snow climb above Broad's Fork Meadow. Ascended Dromedary via NW Face to summit, following (or at least I thought I was following) the "Central Spur" route. Downclimbed the saddle b/t Sunrise and Dromedary, boot-skiing and slide-stepping my way down to the meadow. Hell of a day for a climb. Wish the snow would last another month.

Drom  Sucess!

7/30/2012 - Last part of triple traverse from Robinson Ridge with Sage. Awesome views of Mill B and Lake Blanche. Descended the north-facing cliff bands to the Lake Blanche trail.

7/13/2013 - Over from Sunrise Peak. Intended to hike to Alta but bailed shortly before Sundial Peak due to weather concerns. Nearly died from rain/ hypothermia while descending the Lake Blanche Basin, and got back to the car at 11pm for a 17 hour day. Fun.

Tanner's Gulch  Sucess!

Over from Sunrise after climbing Tanner's Gulch. Note that the direct chute down from Dromedary is not in now, unless you're up for a short, sketchy chimney. Trip report.

Overnight  Sucess!

Passed a wonderful night sleeping near Dromedary by a little snowmelt waterfall, waking up to a small herd of goats near my sleeping bag. Did the Twins the evening before, then Sunrise and Dromedary in the morning. A great cluster of peaks, with superb views, decent staircase style bouldering. Hardest section was a short little stretch from Sunrise to Dromedary and then I went up the South/back side. Easier climb is from the pass towards Lake Blanche.

Perfect Fall weather! Went up the Robinson's Variation and down the never-ending Talus slopes leading into Lake Blanche Basin from the summit of Dromedary. Long day, but worth it!

Go Straight Up the Ridge and up the face!  Sucess!

I tried to follow the directions here for the NE face because it sounded easier: "Class 2-3 Hikers Trail". I contoured around the east flanks and then eventually got cliffed out so I started climbing up. I got cliffed out several times more and ended up spending 45+ minutes climbing places I had no business climbing without ropes. I came straight down what I imagine to be the "NE face" described here---made it summit to base/ridge in less than 15 minutes---super steep but MUCH easier than it looks. I took one look up it on the way up and said no way, but looking back, I should've gone straight up it from the

Dromedary  Sucess!

9/20/2015 As part of the Cottonwood Ridge Traverse via Ferguson Canyon.
7/20/2014 With the WMC as part of the Cottonwood Ridge Traverse. West Twin Peak to Mount Superior.
4/20/2014 On Easter Sunday via Tanners Gulch and onto the Triple Traverse. With Lubos, Donovan Lynch, and John Badila. Unbelievable early spring climb.
6/5/2013 First peak in the Triple Traverse. On a solo mission I gained the saddle between Dromedary and Sunrise via Broads Fork. I then traversed over to Twin Peak and back out Broads.
9/16/2012 Climbed with WMC. Came up Broads Fork and summited Sunrise and Dromedary before dropping down to Lake Blanche.
8/11/2012 Climbed with WMC as part of the Cottonwood Ridge Traverse via Broads Fork. Completed the loop by descending Mill B after summiting Mt. Superior.
8/2/2012 Came up Broads Fork to the saddle between Twins and Sunrise and then headed East over Sunrise to Dromedary. Descended Mill B South by way of Lake Blanche.
