| surgent | Great hike in the Catalinas  Date Climbed: Mar 31, 2012 | |
| Started before sunup to avoid the heat, which was in the 90s already. Made top in 4 hours, down in 3. Great hike, steep but never too bad, and amazing views from the overlook. Tagged about 6 different rocks and hilltops to be sure of "summitting" properly. My first really long hike in the Catalinas. | |

| Hands down, this is one of my favorite hikes in the Tucson area. I love the diversity of plant life, from saguaro at the bottom to ponderosa pine at the top. The views from the overlook near the summit are just obscene. Enjoyed lunch up there, then headed back down into dreadful (for me) heat. Poppies were blooming like crazy! | |

| On aborted first try got lost by dropping below the trail, but have hiked it 3 times since. The Kimball Kings are impressive - I think Jerry Schuster hiked Kimball 50+ times ? | |

| When I lived in tucson that was my favorite hike... did it 20+ times to the top and hundreds of times part way, just for the workout. Best day was doing it three times in 13hours, 20 minutes. I hope to repeat that effort in January 2009... my sixtieth year celebration. | |

| I was checking out the results of the flooding that occurred in 1993. These are some awesome mountains due north of Tucson. The Pusch Ridge Wilderness had a large herd of bighorn sheep back in the 1990s. Too bad I didn't capture one on camera. | |

| The first time I did this Josh and I started in Pima Canyon around 2am and ascended to the peak. Came down the Finger Rock Trail and then walked/ran Tucson city streets back over to Pima Canyon Trailhead parking lot. | |
