| Had a nice fall hike with Amy, Beth, and Andy. We awoke to rain but the weather soon cleared and the clouds made for some great scenery along the way. Various hiker use trails continue to be formed where the trees thin on the ridge, making the main path more difficult to follow than our first time ten years ago. The route is still straighforward, however. This was my 2nd time up the McLoughlin Trail and 3rd time on the summit. Great fall hike! | |

| I car-camped at the Mount McLoughlin TH before setting out at 5:20 AM for an early morning hike. 4h40m roundtrip (2h30m up, 10m summit, 2h0m down). I found the trail to be a little boring, but the final 1000' of scree-gain and the summit views made it worth the trip. No summit register, though. I had enough time to backtrack to Medford midday and see "The Dark Knight Rises" during its opening weekend. Then I had dinner with a peakbagging friend and his wife, before heading east for a few hikes in Lake County the following day. This was the first of seven Top 100 peaks summited in Oregon during a 3-1/2 day timeframe. | |

| Did this in the mid 80's without proper preparation - stuck to the ridge trail as advised but it was a *long* day that I still remember fondly. Bring lots of water. | |

| I remember that the trail was difficult to find/keep track of once above the treeline. Just stick to the ridge and go up. | |

| Climbed with some buddies from work. Climbed it a month later with my wife and camped near the summit. Great sunset & sunrise. | |
