I was up in that general area during the summer of '79 also, but the weather was horrible, so there were no views. Also I was with a bunch of kids who would have been too lazy to get on top of anything, so even with perfect weather I still probably wouldn't have seen this view. But at least I could have seen the mountain from the trail and gotten some photos. Oh well... -Bob

	Voted 10/10	It was so beautiful back then! I visited Washington in 1975, (five years before the eruption), but I was unable to see Mt. St. Helens due to cloud cover. In 1980, I felt the ground shake while I was visiting my grandmother in Puyallup.
