Navajo Falls | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
A view of Navajo Falls in Havasu Canyon. These falls weren't nearly as big as they are now. A huge flash flood ripped through the canyon and drastically changed Navajo Falls. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | Dow Williams | alex | |

Voted 10/10 | Wow, after around 8 trips to Havasupai I thought I was done...now I have to go back and see the "refreshed" area after the floods. It is unfortunate what happened to the village and it will take lots of time and money to replace trails, facilities, etc., but in my opinion these floods did some good things too. This area needed a good flush! | | Posted Dec 30, 2009 1:45 pm |

Hasn't voted | Yeah I had never seen it before the flood. Alot of people that I was with had seen it and they were surprised about how different it was. The damage is all around the area, but it takes so long to do anything there because its so remote. | | Posted Dec 31, 2009 3:45 am |

Voted 10/10 | I'm not sure if it's the same flood or not, but Havasupai had a flood over 15 years ago that flooded the campground out. I had a trip planned to hike down there that was cancelled because of the flood. They had to redo the whole campground. Every trip was cancelled for a very long time afterward. I was never able to make it down there since. | | Posted Jan 17, 2010 2:31 am |

Hasn't voted | I am pretty sure it was a different flood. This one happened just over a year ago I think. This canyon must flash alot. I would personally not want to go down there with rainy weather in the forecast (which we actually did, but it was small amounts). Well I hope you get down there some day. It is a truly amazing place. | | Posted Jan 18, 2010 12:16 am |

Voted 10/10 | I would love to get down there. Right now it's nearly impossible since I now live in Denver and have a wife and 2 year old. Hopefully someday though. | | Posted Jan 19, 2010 3:40 am |
