Man, there's actually a glacier there? Any open crevasses?

Maybe you can take me on this climb later this year or early next. Looks like fun.

	Hasn't voted	Actually, there is a glacier in that cirque but it is a rock glacier. A trail goes out on it but you can't really see that your'e on a glacier because the overlying rocks obscure the ice/rock mass underneath. Incidentally, the guy in the photo is not on the glacier but merely a snowfield remnant.

	Hasn't voted	Granted it was from a distance, but this past weekend I actually saw what seemed to be an open crevasse on the Wheeler Glacier. It appeared to be about 10 feet long and maybe just wide enough to fall into. If I'd had crampons with me, I would have gone up there to check it out up close. There's a chance it could just have been a moat...hard to tell with the new snow present. * To clarify Klenke's comments above: The person in the photo is indeed on a permanent snowfield adjacent to the rock glacier. The rock glacier is visible to the right of the snowfield. The actual glacier, small as it is, is slightly beyond the rock glacier, and not quite visible in the photo.

	Hasn't voted	There is also a glacier at the head of the rock glacier and at the headwall of the cirque. It is small, but it does have crevasses. The glacier is hard to see unless you climb up to the headwall. Its a very steep roped climb.

	Hasn't voted	Yep. I think we're talking bout the same glacier. The crevasse was adjacent to one of the couloirs above the headwall. Since the couloirs contains permanent snow (of unknown depth), I believe what I saw was actually a crevasse (or the bergschrund). 'Twas the first crevasse I've seen on that glacier...interesting, to say the least.
