Nevado Ampato, Volcán Sabancaya and Nevado Hualca Hualca from the east
Nevado Ampato, Volcán Sabancaya and Nevado Hualca Hualca from the east, some 30km away.

It looks like there are only two mountains here - that's because Sabancaya, with still an unusual amount of snow for the time of year, appears to be only a shoulder of its higher neighbor Ampato.

Photo taken from a small lake west north west of Nevado Chucura.

Thanks Tomek. I had to get down twice to get the right angle for it: I first saw this little lake as I was traversing the slopes of Nevado Chucura, and so I descended a bit for a closer look. Then, standing by the lake itself, I had to kneel to get the right perspective.

Sometimes, kneeling down is the perfect
gesture as we humble ourselves to Nature.
