Nokhu Crags south summit

Nokhu Crags south summit

Looking toward the south summit of the fearsome Nokhu Crags from the top of the Grand Central Couloir in the saddle between the north and south peaks. While this climb doesn't look nearly as bad as the climb to the north peak, the rotten, overhanging, lichen-encrusted rock makes me wonder about the supposed Class 4 designation of the route. We took one look at the rock, the approaching weather, and the rapidly-liquifying snow on our descent route before tucking our tails between our legs and getting the hell out of there! May 14, 2006.

Charles,...

Charles, the lichen on these rocks can be attached to my album 'mountainous pioneers...'. Do it if you want.
Thanks for this!!!
