Approach
You leave A10 highway (Salzburg-Villach) in Gmuend, where you enter the Malta valley. You drive through Malta till Koschach, where you turn left (westwards) into the Gossgraben. From the end of the road you'll need to the peak cca 3,5 hours.
Route Description
You drive to the parkplace at the end of Gossgraben, 1670m. You start walking on the very nice macadam route to the Giessener Hutte, 2203m where you come in about 1,5 hour. Then you follow the route to the Hochalmspitze over Steinerne Maennln (536 route) and you come to crossing with Schwarzburger Weg (519 route) . You follow that route to the Lassacher Winklscharte, 2862m. Here you turn left and follow the ridge in SW direction to the Saeuleck. If you turn right you come to the Hochalmspitze over South-ridge South-ridge Detmolder Grat.
You follow the ridge to the Saeuleck and in about one hour from Lassacher Winklscharte you come to the summit of Schneewinkelspitze.
A route is nice hiking trip and very nice in Winter season.
You can continue from Schneewinkelspitze to Saeuleck over Detmolder Weg.
