Took my not-quite-seven son up north Chute, largely following the yellow route line in the Google earth track. Really fun off trail day. We took our time and I did rope him up on two occasions for safety but not needed for older (bigger) folks. Hung at lookout for a bit and took main trail back down. Looking forward to doing all chutes. I live in idyllwild part time. Lot of scrambling and scree. Very impressed with my boy.

Hidden gem
Ascended chute #2 to the top of the ridgeline, and then to the summit of Tahquitz Peak. Really fun climbing in the col and beautiful views from the summit. Alpenglow on "The Others" during the descent was breathtaking. I'll be back to try the other chutes as soon as conditions improve.
went out here with a few friends to sew what these chutes had to offer. Got freaked out on the crux (no rope!) on Chute #1 and ended up climbing Chute #2. We then came down Chute #3. Fun day with steller snow climbing
