north drainage

Looking back down the large drainage that funnels to the north from Mad Wolf Mountain. I ascended via this route in 2009 and descended it in 2010; although it is technically quite easy save for one large class III cliff band around 7,000 feet, I recommend utilizing the northern ridge route instead. Much easier on the legs! Cut Bank Ridge is visible just above center in the photo. The southern face is mostly devoid of trees, while the north slopes are coated by an thick forest. July 22, 2009
