We used the upper portion of this ridge to finish the north face on a couple of occasions. The first time was to avoid the huge hanging slab that was leftover from the massive avalance that occured that season, and later as a finish to the upper colouirs.
I have desired to climb Borah's north face for over a decade and had the chance on this outing. After reaching the first and lowerest section of the summit block my partner decided he had had enough. I was over halfway up the initial 5.7 section and was stoked to continue and diheartened to have to turn away. Unbelievably great conditions with hard snow and frozen rock. What a missed opprotunity, but we will get back someday to complete it.
"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."
