Re: Nice

Never looked at it in so much detail, but I think you're right about everything. We all know what "red, white and blue" stand for. A little green tossed in for "green revotuion" for good measure, I guess.

Thanks for dropping by, Rob,
cheers, Marc

Two weekends ago. My wife and I spent a couple days in the area.
Thanks for dropping by Noondueler.

Re: Very nice Marc!

I think you should put this in the North Peak M&R photo gallery!

Re: Very nice Marc!

I tried to find the "Mountain & Rock" page on it and got over 5000 hits.
I have taken over 300 pix of the area, many more of North Peak. I guess I could make an album at point in time.

This is exactly

why I like the Sierra so much ... beautiful lakes, beautiful meadows, a little wood and those granite peaks. Thanks for sharing, Michael

Re: This is exactly

My wife and I love the Sierras too. Unfortunately, we just don't get to go there often enough.
Thanks for dropping by, Michael.
cheers,
Marc

Re: I

Hate to rub it in, but there wre so many flowers in the area I didn't know how many times I could make my poor wife stop so I could take photos. Indian Paintbrushes, of course, abound.
Thanks for the visit, Fred,
cheers,
Marc

Re: Sweet Photo Marc!

Thanks so much, climbandbike.
I was just checking out you climbing shots. They're all great. Your taped and bleeding hands bring back many memories.

Re: WOW!!!

My wife and I were just trying to get away from the 110F heat of Owens Valley, so we found ourselves at 11000 foot base of North Peak. Didn't climb anything, but sure did a nice hike and brought back a few photos.
Glad you like it, Eric,
Marc

Re: indeed Wow!

Thank you so much Radek. It was indeed beautiful there. Right after we came back down to Tuolumne, the clouds gathered but didn't turn into anything big. As you know a lot of times it snows right in the middle of summer in Tuolumne. Reminds me of when I did Crescent Arch. We passed a party of three at the end of P3. They had their shoes off, taking a snooze. When we got down it started snowing, and I saw those guys trying to climb to the top in the storm. If you've ever done DAFF Dome, you know how scary it can be down climbing the back side on a dry day, never mind when there is snow on the holds.
Thanks for the visit, Radek,
Marc

great composition!

kind of too bad how hard it is to get the front flowers and grass blades in focus - I would have guessed f-9 would give enough depth-of-field - but it still looks really idyllic

Re: great composition!

I know Sean. I fiddled with the darn camera so much, I have no idea what I did. Some of the shots from here were more in focus, but something else was a little screwy such as the mountain not being centered. Another one had a distant flock of birds in the photo that looked like little flies. Oh well, I'll keep trying different things till I get it right.

Thanks for the visit and the comment, Sean,
cheers,
Marc
