North Ridge and Chiefs Head

This picture was taken from Mount Orton June 9th 2010. North Ridge melts out early since it is very exposed to the wind, and even snow patches higher up are avoidable, making Chiefs Head an attractive prospect for those who want to climb a major summit without snowshoes. Snow does, however, hold below Sandbeach Lake later in the season.
