Hasn't voted | Oh, sorry. Canyon Peak, MT. I guess a lot of my photos are "children" and don't have all of the proper info. | | Posted Sep 25, 2006 8:05 pm |

Hasn't voted | cool photo, i have a nearly identical one from a failed January attempt. Does this photo show the summit or is this a false summit? I went up the other side one summer and the actual summit looked a lot different than in your and my picture. | | Posted Mar 23, 2007 6:06 pm |

Hasn't voted | Unless the perspective from being down low is skewed, that is the summit, or really close to the summit. There is one distinct summit, although in the last 50 or so yards of this climb there is a relatively flat (elevation-wise)knife-ridge before a vertical chimney block right before the summit. How was it in January? Where did the snow end/rock start? I have been interested in doing a ski descent, and have wondered how high one can get on skis. Thanks. | | Posted Mar 26, 2007 4:02 pm |

Hasn't voted | I guess I didnt look at the picture close enough, I was thinking this was taken from the south ridge. (It looks very similar from the other side.) We went up the south ridge on snowshoes during the winter attemts and got very close to what we believed was a false summit. (Along with two dogs) A ski descent would have been possible from there, but probabley not from the true summit. This is actually the way we went up during summer, we were just not far enough down in that saddle to get this perspective. The south would probably be the best ski approach/descent | | Posted Mar 26, 2007 5:12 pm |
