Not a fun day

Not a fun day

My brother and I had hiked up Ingalls Creek and then went cross country up Crystal Creek in order to reach the Enchantments via what might be called a "back door". However, the heat was oppressive reaching into the high 80's and we ran out of water and had to make a dry camp. My bro took this shot of me just before we called it quits for the day and stopped for the day. We found water the next day about 600 feet above us. The clown like look comes from the old zinc oxide we'd use to prevent sunburn and I don't need to say much about the garb I am wearing, it was rather stylish for the day. July 1973

Neat shot, Dean. I really like when you post these old photos.

Re: I was 6 months old

Thanks Courtney. Makes me feel a bit old though. Notice that the pack without a chest -sternum strap. Those didn't show up until sometime later. Those packs would really dig into your shoulders.

Stylish indeed ...

Sorry, I sincerely think this photograph
cannot be attached to the "Mountains of Smiles" album.

I remember those packs - they were killers!

Re: Stylish indeed ...

This one doesn't qualify for the "mountains of smiles" album? Geez Larry, what is your criteria? Can't you see I'm smiling even though it looks like a grimace? OK, maybe you can add this to your "mountains of frowns" album instead. ; )

Re: Just so you knpw...

It was more a Sonny & Cher type shirt. We didn't have Waldo in those days. At least 5 years old is better than the 6 months old post earlier LOL.
