| Finally got around to it. Was going to do it in combo with Evans via the Sawtooth but a member of my group didn't like the exposure. Couldn't have asked for a nicer day. | |

| Ken Dammen | East Ridge Summit Date Climbed: Sep 14, 2009 | |
| Road was closed past Summit Lake parking area. Hiked up to saddle below Evans. Dropped down below Abyss Lake and climbed up to he East Ridge. There was snow on the route making the 3rd Class climb seem more difficult. Fun scramble up ridge to Summit. Only saw two people on the summit all day, and nobody on the East Ridge. Weather turned bad on us and we found ourself in a snow storm. We continued on and completed the Sawtooth Ridge and Summited Evans in the snow storm. This was a day with two rugged ridges. Great fun! | |

| To me, this was a very hard climb because I was 8 years old when I did it. From what I remeber, it was a nice day and a crowded trail. | |

| Left Guanella Pass at 9:35 PM, got to the summit at 11:30 PM. The moon was so bright that we kept the headlamps in the packs. Tried to catch some Z's on the summit, but it was kinda chilly, so we continued to Evans via Sawtooth. Back at the TH at 6:35 am. Looong trip, especially with no sleep! | |

| It was my first 14er, as it is for so many others. There were plenty of people but not actually as crowded as I worried it could be. The Western Slope is a steep, but very well-maintained trail, and it's more like 3.67 miles each way, not 3.0 miles as the main page says. | |

| Beautiful day for a climb. Got to the top of Bierstadt fairly fast then proceeded on the sawtooth ridge. (class 3 my ass). traversed until about 300 vertical feet from Evans when black clouds rolled in. we retreated without regret. good day. | |

| Start early! My wife and I got descent parking at 6 AM and were at the top in 3 hours taking it easy. It took just as long to get down to the upward bound "traffic." Wow! Great views. Awesome morning to be on the top of Colorado! | |
