| Man, what an awsome day. With only 3,000 gain, this had to be one of the easiest hikes and defenitely the most beautiful. I was the first one to summit, and had the place to myself for about 20 minutes. It was very enlightening. | |

| Made the long trek from Denver to hike Uncompahgre with good friends Alan, Patrick and Patrick's son JP. The Nellie Creek 4 WD "road" to the TH was "fun" and we camped out at the trailhead for a reasonable start time to the Uncompahgre summit. Incredible views, weather - the San Juan's are a special place! | |

| Started up at 6:10AM and reached the summit at 8:37. Ideal weather conditions though a bit hazy from the Grand Mesa forest fires. Met two nice older gentleman who had each climbed all the 14'ers, very interesting. Left the summit at 9:07 and back to the TH at 11:02. Another beautiful Colorado morning and my 40th 14'er..............sweet! | |

| Well, not from the summit. We skied from the shoulder at 13,900 all the way to the car(with a few dry spots). I was able to skin up to about 13,600. The class 2+ gully on the west face is completely dry, although you must cross an exposed snowfield to get there. See TR on 14ers.com. | |

| This was my first climb of Uncompahgre. I approached from Matterhorn Creek Trailhead. I went up one of the ugly gulleys on the west side, and came down the standard route on the south east and circled back around the mountain to return to the same trailhead. | |

| Climbed the standard route from Nellie Creek. Had to park about 2 miles from the trailhead due to icy conditions in upper Nellie Creek. Beautiful day, calm and not to chilly! Not much snow on the trail until above 12,000' (even then only about 6")then the upper slopes above the cliffs were dry! | |

| Left TH (9,300') at 7.29. Clouds prevalent from get-go, so hurried. Summited @ 10.45, after taking 3rd-class variation from ridge (instead of where trail skirted cliff bands)- fun! Left summit at 10.54 to avoid ominous-looking potential storm clouds, wind, & cold temp's. After left summit, turned into a beautiful day- warm + no storms! | |
