| OK, I'm up there to get Mt. Lincoln because of its prominence, but while there one must also pick off whatever can be gotten that is in some other list, right? Bross is another perfect 14er example of why I so much prefer prominence-based lists over elevation-based lists. | |

| Sign says there is no public access to Bross...yeah, like anybody is going to listen to that! A few Jeeps at the summit. Nice view of South Park form the summit. Just about an hour form summit back down to Kite Lake. | |

| From Kite Lake campground. TH 5:15, Democrat summit 6:22, Demo-Cam Saddle 7:43, Cameron 8:30, Lincoln 8:50, Bross 9:49, Kite lake 11:15. Beat the huge crowds by leaving at 5 a.m. on the busy Labor day Sunday. Was funny watching from the top of Lincoln as the herd was heading up Democrat. Nice folks, great weather and some idiot has a nice Toyota Tundra buried to the axles on the side of Bross's hiking trail, ouch! There was a Jeep following us to the summit. | |

| Made it to the large, rounded summit of Bross around 10:45 and dealt with some of the worst winds I've ever encountered on a 14er. Can't say Bross was my favorite with its yucky scree descent, but I'm thankful that I only had to descend the scree rather than climb it. That would have been icky... | |
