Route Climbed: West slopes to Bross, then the Decalibron in reverse. Date Climbed: July 1, 2005
#1 for the day, doing the Decalibron in reverse. Nice sunny day, but super windy and somewhat chilly (about 32 at the TH at 6am). Not much snow left, ran this in running shoes w/ a light pack to train for the Pikes Peak Ascent.
Route Climbed: Kite Lake: Democrat, Lincoln, Bross Date Climbed: June 11th, 2005
Climbed, Democrat (Southeast Face), Cameron, Lincoln, Bross, and South Bross. Great hike with lots of time spent at altitude. Took approximately 6 hours for the trip.
Route Climbed: West Gully from Kite Lake Date Climbed: May 31, 2005
Climbed to 13,600 feet to the end of the snow for a ski descent. Great day with great views due to low hanging clouds. Skied back to the car on great corn.
Route Climbed: Mineral Park Mine/Dolly Varden Gulch Date Climbed: May 20, 2005
I climbed from the near the Mineral Park Mine site up Dolly Varden Gulch to the summit, then snowboarded back down to the car. Beautiful day with no one around.
Route Climbed: Kite Lake Date Climbed: July 19, 2004
An "odd" mountain I'd call it- watched 2 SUV's & 3 motor-cross bikes climb to the summit... which by the way, is the size of a football field- crazy! The rocky terrain seemed very different from the other 14ers I've climbed, and the "Scree-ski" to the bottom of it was fun! Enjoy!:-)
Route Climbed: North Face Date Climbed: Feb. 17, 2005
First winter attempt on a fourteener. Probably could have made it if I hadn't wanted to try out my new crampons on the North Face. Nearly died in an avalanche and decided to turn back. See trip report.
I love this hike! I've done it about five times and last spring I went at it as a post Rainier workout. I took my video camera and spent quite a bit time setting up shots, but still got my best time...4 hours 24 minutes Jeep to Jeep. Running between the summit of Cameron, Lincoln, and Bross is an energizing experience... rock on!
Route Climbed: Kite Lake, N Slopes Date Climbed: August 2002
This mountain was fun only because it was my first in this range. Normally I do not like taking a stairmaster up a mountain, I wish I had done this in the winter! :P
