10 out of 11 of us summited. Long, hard slog on summit day but well worth it. Great views.

Date Climbed: Oct 11, 2006

All 4 of my group made it to top. After 11 days of acclimatisation still exhausting though the route is technically very easy. Superb views, even including Kangchenzongha. Broke down high camp and descended to Mera La Base Camp same day.

Fantastic, shame about the (lack of) views from the summit

We left on a clear, cold windless moonlit night. The head torch was not event necessary. Our entire group of 11 summited along with our three Sherpa and our cook. It was an amazing day with incredible views of Chomolungma. After being to the summit of a Himalayan peak you are changed forever….

Terrible Weather encountered during most of this expedition and thus no views on the Summit. Summit spoiled by death (heart attack) of another climber on the summit.

My first 6000m-peak. Straightforward glacier climb, but the altitude does make things harder. VERY nice view on the Himalayas!

Summited via normal route. Camps at Mera La, 5400 m. and high camp 5800 m. Very cold during the night. Did not get to the main summit due to crevasse blocking the way just short of summit.

Base Camp at Khare, High Camp and then to the Summit.

We were the second group that Autumn to reach the summit. Travelled with a lovely Spanish couple whom we met on the way.

Summit day was very windy I remember( have video footage to remind me!). However the sky was clear and the snow hard. It was an awesome day and one I enjoyed immensely.

Tougher than I was expecting but a nice climb (spoiled slightly by a bad chest infection). Recommended for anyone wanting their first experience above 6K.

Beautiful trek - traveled with Camp 5 Expeditions. Highly recomended. The trek up the Hongu Valley to the Amphu Lapscha Pass is stunning.

It was the highlight of my trekking tour through the Khumbu (with a group of a german organization), after climbing Island Peak and crossing Amphu Labtsa pass. Well acclimatized we started at 3 a.m. at our camp 100 m beneath Mera La Pass at about 5300 m. First a long walk in beautiful moonlight, then after sunrise nice views to all directions. The long ascent to the summit plateau is very exhausting. There were no footprints to the very summit of Mera Central so eventually we were the first party in this fall season to reach it. The last 10 meters are exposed and steep (45 degrees) and require some experience. On our descent through the Hinku valley we met many parties. Lodges are being built. so it seems that Mera Peak is becoming a very popular mountain
