| Great day with a couple of co-workers on our now annual "big mountain" hike/climb (did Borah last year). Over 1.5 hours on the summit in warm windless conditions. Very nice area. Highly recomended. | ||

| Great climb on a warm 4th of July weekend! Brian T and I took the long trek upward toward the mountain. Still a good bit of snow in and around the basin. We approached the saddle with a high traverse to the left of the basin in some loose rock. Would have been better to stay slow and trudge through the snow because it was actually still pretty firm. It did make for a great glissade on the way back. From the saddle the ridge looked a little intimidating but step by step scrambling we made it to the summit. The views were awesome and we could see the Lost River Range clearly. We watched a lightning storm in the Devil's bedstead below. After the summit, the six mile return seemed to take forever! This was #2 of the 9 12r's. We hope to get some more in this summer. The driving directions and description are a little off, so just turn left a mile outside of Triumph and proceed 4.5 miles to the trailhead. There is no road closure sign or gate as described in the original directions but the trailhead is at the North Fork of the Hyndman Creek and there is parking and an well maintained outhouse there. | ||

| My 6th (of 9 total) Idaho 12k + high peak. Hyndman is actually considered the easiest technically, but I think the longest distance wise. This is actually my 4th attempt on the peak funny enough. First time was just after moving to idaho and went up the wrong canyon to start. Second time was in the spring and the snow was too deep. 3rd time was late fall and got into some unexpected snow conditions... this time it was cool and crisp - perfect hiking conditions. Made it up and back in a little over 7 hours with a 30 min break on the summit. | ||

| Disappointing, altitude got me at 10,800 and had to turn around. Was feeling fine at 10K and it just came on quick. Felt fine at 10K on the way down. Weird, wild stuff. Oh well, the mountain isn't going anywhere. Beautiful area. Rode bike for the first 3 miles. Very fun ride back to the car. Left trailhead at 8:45, turned around at noon, back to the bike at 1:20, 11 and half minutes to the car from there. I will be back! | ||

| Caleb EOC and I planned a three peak three day adventure in the great state of idaho. The walk in in at predawn and the alpenglow on the trifecta of Hyndman, Old Hynd, and Cobb was absolutly gorgeous. We were completly taken a back by the beauty of this area. We were efficiant neverless as we scrambled up Hyndman and soaked in the views, descended 2000ft of talus and were basking in the alpine meadows. Good Times. | ||

| Well, I climbed Borah peak that morning so I took it slow, starting at 4 pm. Summited around 8:30 under perfect weather just before sunset. Hiked out with headlamp and over 10,000 feet climbed that day! Report, pics and map at http://www.willhiteweb.com/index_211.htm | ||

| This was my introduction to 12ers and solo climbing. I love this mountain and I had the whole thing to myself. The ridge to the summit took a long time but was very fun and worth the effort. Great views all around. | ||

| Took advantage of beautiful September day to do a solo climb of Hyndman. Had the place to myself, which I hear is kind of rare for this peak. The scenery on the approach is awesome, and the summit views are excellent. Climbing the ridge seemed to take forever though. Here’s a write up and some photos. | ||

| Great climb, only 4 hours to the summit. Cant beat a 12,000ft peak with 12 miles. The storm hit us pretty good on the way down. Hail the size golf ball's. Great trip! | ||

| It occurred to me on the way up (standard route) that it was thirty years almost to the day that I first made the climb (1977, 1993, 2007). I wasn't quite 17 then and you could drive right up to the bottom of Cobb, so this was a very long but rewarding day. The wildflowers were blooming everywhere. Hyndman Basin is simply one of the most beautiful places on earth. | ||

| We invited some friends along for an overnight backpacking trip that included a climb of Hyndman. The trip turned out to be quite amazing and those friends still have pictures hanging in their house of the climb. It also turned into a little more effort than anticipated, but all of the sore muscles go away while the memories seem to hang around! | ||

| Tried this route once earlier this year (5-5-01) couldn't make it to the summit because the snow fields were way too soft. Second attempt (7-8-01) was successful and the flowers were stunning. Fun to ride a bike up the trail for the first 2 or 3 miles and stash it in the shrubs...makes the way out much, much fun. | ||
