| My first 14er, but no longer the highest I've been. A great mountain thats as easy as it is charming. Second summit in August of 2008 was not as exciting as the first. Go figure. | ||

| panhandler | First Colorado Summit! Date Climbed: May 8, 2006 | |
| Summitted on my birthday in pretty nasty weather. 50 - 60 mph winds and whiteout, but kept on to the summit. Fun climb, but not much more than a long snow slog/hike. | ||

| Bluebell08 | October solo climb ![]() Date Climbed: Oct 8, 2006 | |
| Weather was overcast and even snowed a bit, was tough to make out the trail, postholed quite a bit. The false summits are a real killer! | ||

| ryan_tx | Snowy Date Climbed: Apr 2, 2008 | |
| Attempted with two other friends. Even with snowshoes, we were still sinking to our knees every step in the trees. We set up camp below tree line, but ended up coming down 1 hour later due to a friend's worsening sprained ankle and mild altitude sickness setting in. We will come back! | ||

| ChaddBragg | Long Day ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 8, 2007 | |
| This was a great hike from the South trailhead. There were tons of people up there, but there usually is ona 14er. Took us quite a while because the friend that went with me was a little sick that day and started to feel worse and worse on the way down | ||

| habaceeba | A Hail of a Time ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 12, 2007 | |
| Started from the Black Cloud TH. I wouldn't climb Elbert any other way. For solitude, this route can't be beat as I didn't see anyone else until I reached the summit. I took Variation 1 down (which descends the bowl between Bull Hill and South Elbert. No trail to be found and it was talus and scree until treeline. A storm blew in and I got hailed on for about an hour. | ||

| MountainHikerCO | First Time ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 16, 1987 | |
| This was my first time climbing Mount Elbert. It was from the old trailhead that shared parking with Mount Massive. Most of my climbs of Elbert have been on this standard route. Although on one climb we approached from the Independence Pass road and went over South Elbert and on the return Bull Hill. | ||

| johnmnichols | Elbert summit party Date Climbed: Jun 28, 2004 | |
| Summited via standard East Ridge route. Wife and I were the #2 and #3 people on the summit. Within 45 minutes, there were no fewer than 30 people and 6-8 dogs on top. Glad we started early! | ||

| AltitudeSickness | South Mt. Elbert Trailhead Date Climbed: Sep 15, 1994 | |
| 2nd 14er. Again climbed with my neighbor, friend and guide Scott Arnett. My memories of this climb are having Scott yell up to me saying " Slow down you goat" as I left the trail at about 12,500 feet and went straight up to the summit through boulders and snow fields. I felt very strong. After an enjoyable hour and a half on the summit mother nature let us know it was time to retreat by dumping a large amount of snow on us turning it into a white out within about 20 minutes. | ||
