| Myself, my girlfriend and a coworker and her husband spent July 4, 2003 climbing (or should I say hiking) Elbert. We also rafted the Arkansas to top off the weekend and spent some time in Breckenridge. Elbert afforded great views and some good nap time at the summit. What a crowd up there! | |

| Eight of us climbed together as part of the SummitPost Rockies Reunion. It was great to meet and develop camaraderie among fellow SummitPost members. The weather was beautiful. The hike was short, easy & very enjoyable. A fabulous day one of a two-day climbing weekend. | |

| Left the 4x4 parking area around 11:00 and arrived about 3.5 hours later on top. Very windy; some snow pack on top. Saw a marmot sharing the summitt; fantastic views. 2.5 hours back down. Worse for the wear on the way down! First 14er. Looking forward to another trip up the mountain. | ||

| Got the big one! Number 20 (of CO's 14ers) for me. Left at 4 am from the 4x4 parking and made it to the summit at 08:30. The clouds had parted early in the dawn but started returning. No views from the summit and by the time I was back down to 13,500 there was driving snow. 3 others camped at the 4x4 trailhead had to turn back. Made for great stories around the campfire down below. | |

| The memory that I have about Elbert was that there were a ton of people on this hike. Don't climb Elbert looking for solitude. I also remember a few false summits along the Northeast Ridge Route that deflated my enthusiasm. Hey, it's the highest peak in Co., so I guess you have to hike it. I'm glad I didit back in the day for i would have trouble getting up for this type of hike. | |

| 2nd 14'er. Climbed with Jennifer, Chris, and Jason(brother at age 14). The accent took 5 hrs and descent took 2 1/2 hrs. Rain and lightning before we made treeline on descent... and idiots still heading up as we hurry down. | ||

| It was 12 hours of pain, agony and a bunch of great views, but it was all worth it. If you climb this mountain please sign my summit stick. | |

| My first 14er, done with my dad, when my family went up to Leadville one summer when I was a kid. The mountain that started my mountaineering obsession, I guess you could say. Not exactly sure which route we took. I remember that we parked at the same place the next day when we went up Mt. Massive. I remember there was great weather, it was a great day, and I'm really glad I was able to do it with my Dad. | |

| Climbed solo with my dog Roscoe. Left the Lake View Campground after spending the night at 7:15 am. Returned by 2 pm. Relatively uncrowded route. Nice trail, easy to find. | ||

| The hike overall was pretty easy. There is something about the peaks that are over 14,400 feet. It seems to take longer to reach the summit. At the summit Norm counted 43 people it, and I would say there were about 150 people on the summit that day since there were numerous people accenting and descending the mountain. The views from the top were great and there was an awesome view of the valley up to Mt Massive. The hike up to the summit was very uneventful there wasn’t a whole lot of interesting foliage. It is also a very popular destination so you wouldn’t be alone. There are two popular routes to the summit the Northeast Ridge and the East Ridge. We took the East ridge a longer route and less traveled than the Northeast Ridge. | |

| My first fouteener. Good hike. Left car at about 6:00 AM and summited just before 10:00. Was back at the car by 12:30. Great views from on top. | |

| The hike to the top of Colorado's highest point is beautiful below treeline. Cloudy conditions on top prevent me from saying what it's like up there. A very friendly mountain | |
