| The two of us started at the Wimbachbruecke at 4am and reached the Watzmannhaus at 6.30 am - just on time to have a headstart on the crowds that started from there. Traversed Hocheck, Mittelspitze and reached Suedspitze at 9.40am. The descent to Wimbachgrieshuette is not all that pleasant. The upper part has plenty of loose rock while the trail in the lower part was partially destroyed by water. The 12k stroll back to Wimbachbruecke was very nice again and didn't feel as long as I thought it would. | |

| Went up to the Watzmannhaus with my mother and father in August and dropped mom off there. Dad and I continued on to Hocheck but because of the time didn't move across to the Mittel or Sudspitze. Clouds were covering the summit most of the way but we broke out as we got up top for a little. Mittelspitze looked amazing with a fresh dusting of a couple of inches of snow (in August!). Good day. | |

| very fine day, good conditions but _very_ many people on the route. Between Mittelspitze and Suedspitze the sole did not stick to my boots any more so I was lucky to reach the valley with some improvisation. | |

| Climbed berchtesgadener Weg, completed ridge traverse (my first real mountaineering climb) I believe Martin (below) flew by my partner and myself. Route-finding was semi-difficult, but my partner has skills! Weather was awesome, beautiful view from summit. | |

| We did the Berchtesgadener Weg. It is a nice climbing. The weather was okay (not too hot). After climbing the East face we did the ridge traverse to the Watzmannhaus. All in all it was a perfect day. | |

| Did the Watzmann when I was six and seven years old with my father when he was stationed in Germany. Great time! First time I had been exposed to hiking / scrambling. We first did just the Hocheck from the Watzmannhaus and returned the next summer and did the traverse. We came up Wimbachgries and stayed at the Wimbachgrieshutt prior to coming up and over the Sudspitze, Mittelspitze, and then the Watzmann. It was funny cause the hut keeper would not tell my father where the trailhead was cause he was afraid of him taking a "kinder" up the Sudspitze. I am currently in Germany and plan on going back to the Watzmann this summer, possibly with my father and doing the traverse again. | |

| We found this a good idea: Sleeping on a Hammerstiel parking place (750 m), cycling (and also walking) up by the steep road to Kuehrointalm (1409 m), then hiking to Watzmannhaus and further to Hocheck (2651 m) and climbing the ridge to Mittelspitze (2713 m). Of course we descended the same route and made the tour in one extraordinary day. In the evening we were already drinking coffee in Salzburg. Watzmann is a great mountain! | |
