| A bit of a haze in the valley. Great view otherwise. I liked Clark Peak a lot. | ||

| SFMountaineer | Cool, cloudy, but pretty day ![]() Date Climbed: Oct 12, 2009 | |
| With a big storm blowing in, this might have been the last day in 2009 for a non-winter ascent. Hazy, cloudy day (high clouds), which created some interesting views from the summit, definitely spectacular. | ||

| bearbnz | Tenaya Lake-Clouds Rest-Half Dome- Yosemite Valley ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 20, 2009 | |
| Hiked with friends and my 3 boys, 11, 9 & 9 years old. Fun day, although Half Dome was too crowded, but what else to expect on a weekend. On this day someone hiked up Half Dome and committed suicide, and Helo 551 flew up and landed on the summit to pick him up. The helo had come and gone by the time we got up there. | ||

| Part of a 2 day backpack with one of my best friends, Anna. Amazing camping and and excellent airy summit. The Yosemite fires were raging, bringing visibility down, but mental clarity was truly at its finest thanks to the magic of this peak. | ||

| squishy | Finally ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 22, 2009 | |
| Finally got up this thing, been attempting it longer than I've been seriously mountaineering. Failed with the scouts in my teens and almost forgot about it. The weather forced us to pick an easy class 1 or 2 hike this last weekend and I'm glad we did it. Super easy hike by comparison, and we did the class 1 route in about 5 hours... | ||

| Left from TH at 6am with Felix. Cold for this time of the year - 29 degrees. Had summit and great views to ourselves (great view of valley, upper yosemite, etc..) for 15 minutes until another party arrived. Saw lots of people on the way down. | ||

| What to do in dicey weather? Hike! "Ran up" Clouds Rest with Mike & Maria from Tenaya Lake. Barefoot river crossing near the trailhead and hundreds of feet of snow climbing in trailrunners made for a fun little adventure. As we topped out, thunderstorms and rain clouds were everywhere around us. Awesome views from the top. 5.5 or so hours round-trip. | ||

| farrisgl | May "Winter" Ascent ![]() Date Climbed: May 3, 2008 | |
| We got it all on this ascent. Rain, hail on the way to establishing camp about 1 mile from Cloud's Rest. A snowstorm delayed our summit attempt until the next morning. Glad we were prepared. Lots of snow on the trail from this point to the summit. At least 4 feet of snow covered the summit. Stopped about 100 yards short as I did not have my rope and pickets. Even with axe and spikes, with the wind, it was too dangerous. Summitted offically in August. What a Great Peak!!! | ||

| tooantsy | Knee Deep Snow last 100 feet ![]() Date Climbed: May 25, 2006 | |
| What a FUN day hike! A welcome alternative to Half Dome. There wasn't much snow on the trail, until the very last 100 feet. It was knee deep. Will post pictures of this soon. Highly recommended! | ||

| CookieMonster | From Happy Isles ![]() Date Climbed: Nov 14, 2008 | |
| A heck of a day trip from Happy Isles in mid-November (9 hours). An extremely clear day with the Coast Range visible 120mi to the West. On the South (trail) side there are only a few patches of snow starting at ~9000ft (Nov. 14th). | ||

| Beautiful hike up from the lake, though it seemed like we spent a lot of time giving back elevation that we then had to gain again. Stunning view of Half Dome and the Tuolomne Valley. | ||

| Ratballs | From Tuolumne Meadows ![]() | |
| Came upon Cloud's Rest on a three-day loop hike from Tuolumne Meadows back in 1992, with my ex. Didn't know it was a summit, per se, but figured with a name like "Clouds Rest" it had to offer pretty views, so we headed that way: of course, it's so long ago now that I have no idea if I was right or not. | ||
