Came from Missouri and went the long way due to poor route planning. I ended up all the way back at the standard junction instead of going over Elkhead pass. Didn't have the energy to go over to Oxford so I'll need to come back.
Belford/Oxford/Missouri Date Climbed: Sep 28, 2009
Started at Missouri Gulch and climbed the northwest ridge route of Missouri. Continued to Elkhead pass and climbed to Oxford traverse. Climbed Oxford and then doubled back to hit Belford. This was a long day. 14+ miles and over 7000+ feet of elevation gain. Make sure weather forcast for the whole day is good and leave before dawn.
Missouri Gulch Belford/Oxford Date Climbed: Aug 29, 2009
I've got to confess this summit could take my 2009 award for Least Inspiring Summit. At any rate, it was nice to take a breather here before continuing on to Oxford. Partner: Deb.
Wife, dog and I climbed the duo from Missouri Gulch. Great day except for the pricks that had the dog off leash that started a fight with my dog, but oh well, what do you expect!? Rained on us on the way out...
Had three days off from work at Philmont so we went up to Colorado for some 14ers. We did Belford and Oxford together. We started at 11am and finished at 5:30pm. Great day with amazing weather conditions...a little windy but not bad
