| My first fourteener and an awesome one at that. But it was COLD! Trevor and I scurried down quickly after summiting. The sun came out just before it set, a welcome surprise. A great climb though! | ||

| My wife and I packed into Missouri Gulch and made camp just below timberline. The day was rainy and cold until late evening, when the skies cleared and we glassed some deer on the ridge opposite the creek to the west. In the morning, we summited Belford, before going on to summit Oxford. The toughest part of the climb is regaining the Belford summit after already claiming it once before plus Oxford! I think the view of Elkhead Pass to the southwest is beautiful and that area is one of my favorite in the state! | ||

| After packing heavy in, we made camp and summitted. I didn't keep a watch on the climb, but relatively short. Very chilly weather for this time of year. The rain put a damper on our weekend plans, which included Oxford and Missouri as well. | ||

| 2nd 14er of my life, 1 hour after summiting my 1st, which was Oxford. Flawless weather @ 14197, like a Denver afternoon! Couldn't find the canister though, so I'm registering it here. | ||

| kjkrow | Route Climbed: Elkhead Pass from Mt Oxford Date Climbed: August 2, 2005 ![]() | |
| After summitting Oxford, we returned on the ridge, making the summit of Belford around 12:30, again in the wind. This was the third in two days and the last climbing before our descent to the car and the trailhead. We descended the northwest flanks of Belford, rather than our ascent route. Great two days. | ||

| I hiked Belford with my sister's friend, Kate. The weather was a little unsettled and partly cloudy, but not too terribly windy, but it was quite chilly at higher elevations. Then we went on to Oxford. We did get a trace of rain and a little thunder on the way down. | ||

| There really wasn't a trail here to speak of as Roach refers to, but a memorable hike for sure. This was a slogfest. Great views of the gulch on the way up though. A very unique summit. Trip report to come | ||
