Great day! Got started a little after 5a, stopped on Mount Belford for a few pics, and headed straight over to Mount Oxford.

Glad I got an early start as the lot was already 1/2 full (or was it 1/2 empty?) by 5a and the clouds were getting pretty thick by 11a. The late starters caught a break though as the clouds broke up and then it became sunny and HOT! And with the quad busting, knee popping switchbacks, I was glad to only have 1.5 mi to my car by the time the heat kicked in! :)

Climbed during a full moon...was great. Summited Belford and hurried over to Oxford just in time for an AMAZING sunrise!

Took a power nap on the top...would have made for a great overhead shot considering there were 5 people and 2 dogs napping on top as well. (You need it to conquer the return to Belford)

On the approach to Belford this saddle(Belford-Oxford)looks quite easy, which it is.....but don't forget to take into account this is after you have already been up one 14er. Mt. Oxford alone would be a very easy day. The climb back up to Belord was a little steeper than we were expecting and this is where a few of us started to get a little worked. Overall a beautiful and aesthetic route. Would highly recommend bringing axe and crampons when descending Belford to Oxford in winter.

Finally found enough clothing to make the perpetually windy traverse from Belford to Oxford. Bagged Pecks Peak on the return - it's recommended if for no other reason than a peculiar view of Harvard popping up between the Belford/Oxford saddle.

Beautiful weather. The 2200 ft glissade down the northwest gully of Belford made my weekend. Perfect glissade snow.

A repeat climb with my daughter, for her 3rd 14er. It became my 7th in September of 1976. Camped in Missouri Gulch at about timberline, climbed both peaks and packed out on the 2nd day. Great fun, but it had been too long since I had carried a full pack very far, and my shoulders complained!

Bailed down gulch between peaks due to lightning, walk upstream to bridge in rain.

Did Belford and Oxford in one day. A long hike, but the weather held and the views were spectacular. I suppose I'll have to revisit the valley to tackle Missouri later!

Did the standard route from Belford, and made it to Oxford summit in 48 mins. Weather was closing in, so we were going at a little bit faster clip than normal. Did all three in one day, not as bad as it was made out to be. Going back over Belford after a long day is a little challenging. Amazing views, and an amazing sunrise. (check the pics.)
