snowclimber12fire road  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Dec 30, 2008

most of the trail is up a fire road which is pretty boring and a very indirect hike, but the views from the top are pretty good.

Bubba SuessRim of the Bay  Sucess!

Nailed this one when I was in the Boy Scouts and a few times afterward. I hate hiking on roads.

JasonHGreat Day  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jan 17, 2009

Perfect day for coastal range hike. It was clear to the north, so I saw Lassen and I think I saw Shasta. To the west I was able to make out the Crystal Range. To the south Diablo and Mt.Tam poke up above the fog. I saw only 2 people going up and lots of people on the way down. I did South, East, and North Peaks at 6 hours CTC.

DeanNapa county highpoint  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 20, 2008

My wife and I were heading south when I decided to go for the Napa county highpoint (not the main summit). Today was pretty hot but overall this is basically a roadwalk. Several workers were installing some new stuff near the highpoint. Still, it was over 9 miles so a good workout. Will go after Vaca Peak in the a.m. and Copernicus after that before we head to Ventura and a visit with my wife's relatives.

Date Climbed: May 25, 2008

Was the first one up the mountain on a warm Memorial Day Sunday. Excellent views of the Napa valley. Make sure you visit the Napa county hp to the south! Lots of people coming up on my way down.

96avs01Consolation Prize  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Apr 19, 2008

Originally planned to be on Casaval today, but conditions and forecast for Shasta did not cooperate. So, decided to go for a quick dayhike with the GF. Approximately 3 hours CTC, with decent views but hazy conditions and lots of people somewhat spoiled our fun.

Date Climbed: Feb 18, 2008

Over two hours to top, after Fiske, this day. Many hikers without water or packs. Just T-shirts and shorts, too, on a chillier day. Fog rolling in from the Coast.
