Route Climbed: Livermore->Tripyramid Loop via N. Slide Date Climbed: October 9, 2004
Wow what a great loop. The Livermore Trail was all the more beautiful in peak foliage. The North Slide was a little tricky in places because the rock was damp from fog and dew. The climb up this slide is exhilarating. The top of the slide ends with a near-bushwack to the top--many scratchy branches along the last .2 miles. Somewhat limited views from the top. The South Slide was a mellow though steep descent.
NOTE: The North Slide Trail is the second slide trail off of Livermore Road. Do not be fooled by the South Slide Trail sign, which happens to list the distance to N. Pyramid. You want to come back this way. I would not recommend a descent on the North Slide Trail.
A beautiful day, with temperatures a bit above freezing even on the summits. The slide is quite difficult, not for people who experience vertigo, but the exposure leads to great views.
Route Climbed: Loop, up North Slide Date Climbed: June 28, 1998
I didn't know what to expect here because I went with a peakbagger friend who was ticking mountains off the NH 4000' list (he only had about 5 of 48 left to go at the time). I had never heard of this mountain or the North Slide before. The North Slide was more than I expected in the White Mountains but fun nevertheless - certainly got my blood pumping and the exposure was awe inspiring.
