After camping between Armstrong and Upper Wolf Jaw, I left at 7 am to summit Upper Wolfjaw in the pouring rain. Let me tell you, Descending the north sideof this son of a bitch was a challenge, especially with an almost 40 pound pack! there are several class 2+ moves with not much exposure but a 20 foot drop can seriously hurt anybody. I underestimated these peaks which was a pleasant surprise to me, even in the rain!

Started at St Huberts, went up Gothics, then down the great range hitting Armstrong, Upper and Lower Wolfjaw. Great fall colors!. Early snow & ice made it kind of treacherous.
Route Climbed: Ausable Club, West River trail to Wedge Brook trail. Date Climbed: Oct 11, 2003
Conditions warmer than expected, mid-70s and sunny. Used the 1st trail junction when descending LWJ to reach UWJ. Fairly steep climb, but not as bad as LWJ. Stopped for lunch and some photos at the top.
