recastQuick exercise climb  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 10, 2009

I woke up early and decided to go hiking for some exercise. Got up and down the mountain in two hours. It was strangely humid out and almost chilly at the summit.

recastFun climb for new hikers  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 3, 2009

I took four of my non-hiker friends up the mountain. It was a 5 1/2 hours hike for them but everyone stayed in good spirits. It's always nice to introduce people to the joys of hiking.

GPS batteries died 1 mile into the hike which left us to route-find our way back the old-fashioned way.

Scott WesemannPerfect Day!  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Apr 18, 2009

With Kristina on a fantastic trip to Vegas. The trail was very difficult to follow higher up on the mountain and we just picked the path of least resistance and kept going up. From the saddle it was an easy hike to the summit. The views were fantastic and the weather was perfect. The hike down was loose and slippery and we had to take care to stay on our feet. We made it back to the hotel in time for 'Happy Hour'. What a perfect day!

Pick a trail and hope for the best! A fun, adventurous route. Some slick spots on the way down.

climbed w/ Whitney Lyman & Lauren Eble - always a nice climb, and ~8" of snow at the peak this time made for some good pictures. Need to remind people to bring gloves for this hike - sharp, loose rocks!

While visiting CON EXPO in Las Vegas, my wife and I decided to hike this peak. It was also my first time at Red Rocks. This whole area gave me a reason to visit Las Vegas again.

recastFun & Easy Climb  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Oct 23, 2008

Did this climb in the morning before work. Very easy but a lot of fun picking your own route to the top as the trail is not very defined.

BradBartick5 X in a day  Sucess!

Training for rim-rim-rim in Grand Canyon. Did TP 5 times non-stop with no sitting in one day to train. Have also done it 3 times in one day. Good little peak- quick elevation gain.

odogg0824Fun Ascent  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 5, 2008

Climbed with my fiance, brother, and sister. There was a lot of "choose your own adventure" on the way up. Virtually no wind at the top and terrific views in all directions. We saw a bighorn sheep on the way down, and had an overall great experience. Total time - 5 hours including 45 mins at the summit.

With Mommy and Daddy. Not yet 9 months old, so Daddy carried me. It was about 50F with rain and wind on the summit, but I didn't cry.

justinjohnsenFirst time at Red Rock  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Mar 10, 2008

Had a morning free before I started a work conference in Vegas, so I went up to Turtlehead along the standard trail from Sandstone Quarry. Awesome scenery for a non-desert native.

Spied an inviting drainage leaving Turtlehead's south slopes into a slot canyon on the northwest side of the Calico Hills. It made for a fun descent and return to the car. The solid rock at the bottom of the gully was far preferable to the slippery stuff on the use trails up.
