| Summitted this peak with my friend John Bousman (has first ascents in Washington, BC, and Alaska). We took a slide up then came over to another headwall and climbed it (4th class). This was my first alpine rock climb. Then over to the Dix's. Great day | |

| Went back to tag Macomb after cutting my March trip short. I was joined by my brother who had done Macomb as part of a Dix Range traverse before the hurricane. We decided to continue following Slide Brook down past the herds path (hopefully all the way to the marked trail). The blowdown along the brook gets very thick. I would strongly encourage taking the herds path. Still nothing like a little adventure in the woods. | |

| I has been a while since I've been to Macomb. The trail was pretty wet. Our dog (Guinness) flushed a rabbit on the way back that was about as big as she is. | |

| Climbed with South Dix, East Dix and Hough via the Dix Trail from the Elk Lake Lodge. Going up the slide was a blast. Once we were over around 3000' a sea of clouds was at our feet. The summit boasted some great views of surrounding High Peaks. | |

| Finished the Dix Range by summiting Macomb. Excited to have made all 5 peaks! Tough trip. Exhausting 22 hours in total. STEEP slide on the way out! #36/46! : ) | |

| Tough hike with all the blown down trees on the herd path. Slide climb was most enjoyable section of mountain I've climbed in the ADK. | |

| Jayne fell in the streambed and yelled she was telling her mother that I was trying to kill her. Took her awhile to chill out. She was pissy because she wanted to follow a false herdpath. Sometimes the women are smarter. Sometimes not. | |

| On Sept 16, 2001, I drove to the Elk Lake trailhead to climb the Dix Mtn Range. I started out by climbing the Macomb Slide. The blowdown was annoying but the slide climb was wonderful. This is the view of Elk Lake from the Macomb summit. | |
