Hiked with Donaldson & Emmons on a beautiful, cold, sunny day. Gorgeous views and the sun felt amazing! Tiring but productive day!

SpindleRoute climbed: herd path from Camp Four Lean-To  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Oct 11, 2008

A muddy, slippery, mess of a climb up in perfect fall weather.

Totally worth it.

Date Climbed: Aug 31, 2006

Climbed with Donaldson and Emmons via the Duck Hole Trail from Route 3. Good weather for most of the day. Herd path was easy to follow and provided a real sense of isolation and remoteness. Not much of a view though.

Snow! And lots of it! Paul and I hiked this peak and it was slow going. Tough and slick in spots. Planned on hiking Donaldson and Emmons, but didn't have enough daylight. Next time! 15/46.

CookieMonsterUp and Down From Ward Brook  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 3, 1991

This was a very isolated area back in the early 90s, where you'd only find those serious about completing the 46. Hiked into the area from Ward Brook. Climbed Seward, Donadson, and Emmons - returning the same way. Left my mother on the summit of Seward for an afternoon while we continued onward!

EnapaiRoute Climbed: Calkins Brook HP to ridgeline  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 21, 2007

Sun, Sun, Sun, and Mud, Mud, Mud. I heard from other hikers that the HP up from Ward's Brook was like climbing in falling water. Calkins Brook HP was in good shape. Can't say the same about the HP along the ridge.

Did you know Seward was named for William Seward, possibly better known for his Alaskan "folly"?

climber46Route Climbed: herd path from the north Date Climbed: Aug 19, 2001  Sucess!

Hiked from the Coreys Rd trailhead to Seward, Donaldson, and Emmons as a day hike. The herd path on the upper half and ridge was awful. I never want to come here again. This hike tied with my hike of Redfield and Cliff as the worst herd paths I have ever seen.
