Date Climbed: Oct 12, 2009

Hiked up from AMR, sun changed to high clouds and little sun, but great views up and down the valley. Visited Fish Hawk Cliffs and Indian Head on the way out. Leaves everywhere.

EastcoastMikeDarn it!

Hiked a long time ago with my parents, but I have to go back because they didn't want to hike Blake also!

TLPEaster Sunday/Opening Day  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Apr 12, 2009

This was my first big hike of the year. It was a cloudy day, and there were flurries for almost the entire hike. You could still see the Great Range from the top, but it was a crummy view because of the weather. I wore my microspikes, which were a big help. Saw no one else on the trail. It beats hanging out with boring relatives. It was nice to get some winter, while it is spring by my house.

Climbed with Blake via the Colvin Trail from the Ausable Club. Hiked this mountain during the absolute peak of fall foliage. Awsome views of the Great Range across Lower Ausable Lake from the summit. We only stayed on the top for a little while as cold winds and chilly tempertures forced us to keep going.

What a beautiful day in the Dacks. The fall colors were beautiful! Hiked this one with Paul--we summited Blake as well. What a trip to break in new boots! : ) 5/46

Second trip up, second in early April. Ugly people always get breakfast. Christ, they'll have the sheriff up here if I don't feed ya.

A great "opening day" for Mike, my brother, and myself. Nice weather, a bit cold but no real wind. Hit some decent snow about halfway up, which w/o snowshoes was tough hiking. We summitted around 2 pm, and decided a Blake summit would be too much for that day. Capped it off with a few cold Barkeaters at the LPPB.

My old lady only bought one ticket for the dead. So I went climbing. Greatest views in the high peaks to date. Slide paths in every direction. Then I did blake. Curse that wretched mountain.

A nice climb with good views. Fog came in when I returned to this summit from Blake Peak.

Steep sections kicked butt after coming from Nippletop and dial, ugh, getting old! Nice view of lower ausable and surrounding peaks.

Great mountain. Several nice views along the long summit ridge. Not to difficult unless you opt to traverse over to Blake peak in the same trip (which we did). We also started over Fish Hawk Cliffs and Indian Head for additional views.

Very nice hike.
