| I love this mountain, only for the fact that its broad, mostly treeless slopes provide enduring views of remarkable scenery. The Wilson group, Lizard Head, and the Ice Lake peaks (Vermilion, Beattie, and Fuller) all stand out from the slopes of Black Face. | |

| Started up the Cross Mountain Trail and then on the Lizard Head Trail, where we crossed this mountain and to Lizard Head Pass, where we had stashed a car. Thought this was only a 5 mile hike and turned out it was over 10 miles. Great views! | |

| Climbed with two members of Usual Suspects and Ellen via the Lizard Head trail from the pass. A two foot wide spruce had fallen and blocked the trail just below timberline. An older forest ranger cut through this huge thing single handedly before we returned from the summit. As predicted, an awesome view was enjoyed from this wonderful, bug filled summit. Got lots of spectacular pictures. A nice rain storm concluded our hike. | |

| Happened to find my way to the top of this one and I am glad I did. Best views of the Wilsons and the peaks around Trout Lake. | |
