| Although the views were just breathtaking, the 9-mile approach was definitely lengthy... Departed the roadway parking lot at 16.31, & returned around 18.37. Took an interesting 4th-class variation to the L of centre when coming from the road. Turns out the R-hand side is really mellow. One of the (if not THE) best views in The Valley- one can see everything from the Cathedral Rocks to El Cap to Yosemite Falls (all 3 of them) to Conness to Half Dome to Lyell to Ritter to..... Combination of snow, flowing falls, & solitude (I assume that the place is a relative madhouse in the summer) made this excursion particularly rewarding. |
