| I was only 6 years old, and as of that time, was the youngest person to reach the summit of Castle Dome. My step-father was an accomplished Mt. climber and took me on the awesome climb. I even led the 'last pitch to the summit'.
I remember signing the 'guestbook' at the summit, which consisted of a small plastic box with papers in it with the names and ages of people who'd reached the summit.
The hike back to our campsite was very hard, as I was so tired... but SO VERY PROUD.
I wonder if I am still the youngest person to climb Castle Dome, my beloved rock. |
