| Took a taxi from Mérida to La Mucuy, convinced the ranger that I knew what I was doing and managed to get a solo permit. Hiked to Laguna Coromoto that day, to Laguna El Suero the next, and did the normal route on Humboldt the day after. Traversed to Pico Bonpland afterwards and descended back to Laguna El Suero. Went on to climb La Concha and Pico Bolívar over the next two days. Great weather the whole time! | |

| This was our first Venezuelan peak ascent as part of our "La Travesia" peak-bagging trip. Climbed with Mike Ostby (mdostby). I was surprised to see the medium-sized crevasses (~ 10 ft wide) on La Corona Glacier. I thought they'd be smaller. We had a beautiful sunny day, no wind, just plain nice. | After the two day approach, my climbing partner Miguel Forjan (forjan) and myself climbed to the summit in perfect weather conditions. Awesome views from the summit in every direction. We climbed Humboldt as a prelude to climbing Pico Bolivar. | |

| Been there five times in different times of the year, but definitely the best month to climb it is September and through the NorOeste Route!! | |

| It was my third day in the Andes and it was an easy walk to the top. We had a big view to the other mountains and valleys also on Lagoon Verde. | |
