| Three 'attempts' had been necessary, before I finally reached the summit. In september 1995 we managed to stay several days in the upper Adula refuge, without ever seeing the summit (fog, snowfall). Admittedly, at that time my crampons were brand new and I did not have an ice axe. Thus, this might not count as an 'attempt'. On a certain sunday morning in april 2000 several ski alpinists starting from Laentahuette had to learn the hard way, that the weather forecast is not always true. On july 29th 2000 I reached the summit. In the afternoon, together with some newbies, having started from Capanna Quarnei. For them, the highest peak in their life :-) | ||

| August 15th 1998 - east route from Zapport hut We met nobody on this nice and easy tour, but we had no panorama from the summit, in the clouds. We descended to the Adula hut. The next day, to come back to the east side, we crossed Passo di Laghetto and Passo di Cadabi, climbed the easy Vogelsberg and slept another night in the Zapport hut. The last day we climbed the Gueferhorn and descended to the village Hinterrhein. It was a nice and mostly lonely 4-day-trip. March 5th 2000 - north route from Laenta hut with ski most difficult part was reaching the Laenta glacier from the end of the valley. The glacier itself was no problem, crevasses were covered by much snow. Clear sky, but very cold and windy, so we could not enjoy the panorama to Monte Rosa. Skiing down directly between the serac zones was great! | |
