the fresh snow from the previous night made this great climb even more interesting... absolutely clear views from the summit that day. glad we took the bicycles as far as possible on the way to the Furtschaglhaus (along the lake). That saved us at least 45 minutes each way.

charlesNorth West Face  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 29, 2008

Wanted to climb the Himmelsleiter but it was not really in good condition, the ice gully was also "rotten" so we climbed the rideg, easy grade I to II then up the snow ridge as usual.
Super mountain and a really enjoyable route.

tiefenthalerRoute Climbed: Normal from Schlegeissee Date Climbed: 1 September 1985  Sucess!

The weather was suboptimal (clouds and drizzle) so we opted for the normal route.

Mathias ZehringRoute Climbed: traverse from Berliner hut to Eisbruggjoch hut Date Climbed: July 23rd 1992  Sucess!

From the Berliner hut we had to cross the whole Waxegg glacier (many crevasses!), then cross the main ridge and reach the summit from the italian south side. This was long but not too difficult and we did not meet any other climber. There was much snow at the descent to the south and it was almost like skiing to reach the hiking trail that we had to follow another 2 hours to the Eisbruggjoch hut.

The Furtschaglkees - an interesting glacier. How long will it still be there?

UliRoute Climbed: Northwest Face Date Climbed: June 15, 2002  Sucess!

I did it together with Martin (see post below), Wolfgang and Vinzenz. For Wolfgang and me it was a kind of test climb for our upcoming Bolivia trip (July 2002).

My first "ice-wall"!

The wall was in a perfect condition and our equipment ridiculus (wooden ice axes type Luis Trenker...)

Nice Ice climbing. We were 4 people and had good weather conditions. Only the way to the wall was bad. the snow was very soft. Thanks to Uli for leading the group thru the snow. It was good work but for him I think it was bad.
