PeterCorneliusSpaethRoute Climbed: Trettachspitze - Maedelegabel - Hochfrottspitze Date Climbed: August 2002  Sucess!

I used the mountain bike to shorten the approach for a long day's climb: up northeast ridge of Trettachspitze, down northwest ridgde of Trettachspitze, passing slopes under Trettachspitze, find a ramp leading right up to the north ridge of Maedelegabel, traversing Hochfrottspitze to Bockkarscharte, finally down to Waltenberger Haus / Einödsbach. You need to be moving carefully in this partly rotten rock, but it's a nice climb never exceeding UIAA grade III.

piniRoute Climbed: normal route Date Climbed: August 12, 2000  Sucess!

We left the car at the Fellhorn cableway parking site and hiked via Birgsau and Einoedsbach to the alpine hut "Waltenberger Haus". There we left parts of our luggage and hiked up to "Bockkarscharte", crossed the small (and only glacier of the Allgaeu Alps) "Schwarzmilzferner" and climbed the normal route onto "Maedelegabel". Thats about 1750 meters ascent in about 5 hours. Back to the "Waltenberger Haus" where we spent the night in the absolutely overcrowded hut (about 45 centimeters width of mattress for every sleeper)!

Next day we ascended again to "Bockkarscharte" and walked the Heilbronner Weg to "Rappenseehütte".

Martin74Route Climbed: via Kemptener Hütte and Heilbronner Weg Date Climbed: 16th of August 1998  Sucess!

A long but a beautiful day. In one day up to Kemptener Hut, then to the summit of the Hohes Licht. After that the Heilbronner Weg to the Maedelegabel and down to the Waltenberger Haus. it is not a difficult tour.
