Standard Siphon Draw route. Thought it was a great idea to hike this in Aug...needless to say it was like a million degrees and I was the only one out there. Great hike!!

I can't say much else other than it was out of this world. The landscape was just ridiculous-- made me think about Wiley Coyote and Roadrunner. Awesome cacti; fun trail; incredible rock formations; 3000 ft elevation gain. Also, the view from the unnamed peak is way better than the flatiron. I'm glad that I spent my one day in phoenix doing this... Overall, it was an experience I will never forget.

Been meaning to visit my friend MF in Phoenix for years. Unfortunately, the Easter traffic from Vegas was a little thick.

MF showed me the route from the restaurant; this route avoids the day use fee at the park. He had been up Flatiron about 25 times.

I was sick, but we still made it in 1 h 25 m.

Wonderful flowers -- phacelias, lupines, hyacynths, penstemon, poppies...poppies will make them sleep...

I've done this hike before, up to the unamed peak at least, so I knew what to expect on the front side. However I've always been tantalized by Superstition Peak lingering just out of reach so the East. I descided to start early, travel alone, and push hard to hit that peak. For the record, hiking round trip to Superstition Peak from Siphon Draw is not a hike for the faint of heart. Enjoy!

Started hiking Siphon Draw around 6am and probably could have started earlier. Pretty damn hot by the time I finished around 11am and there were people just starting out!

The view from the Flatiron was great and the scramble to the higher peak just as good! Amazing views and a surprisingly steep hike.

Absolutley amazing. I rode a bicycle to the base of this mountain from Los Angeles. Its an easy scramble to the top (provided you bring a lot of water). The views are outstanding. Easily the best view in Phoenix.

First mountain I ever climbed. My brother and I camped on the flatiron, with great views of Phoenix below. A wonderful climb!

Great hike. I was doing a solo drive between grad school and work, and this was right outside Phoenix. And they had FREE SHOWERS at the base! Arizona state parks are where it's at. This also started about 3 days of fantastic wandering up the Salt River and doubling back west, eventually making Flagstaff.

Great hike! Not as beautiful and green as last year, but still worth it. I recommend going as earlier in the morning as possible, the trail gets extremely busy by 10am. You want to be down by then.

This was my first climb in the Superstitions. It was outstanding! We wrapped around the base of the Flatiron and only climbed the last 100 yards of the Siphon Draw. Enjoyed the climb down the Siphon Draw.

We summited the Flatiron first, then the unnamed peak to the north.

A great way to spend the last day of the year. I went with Darren & Steve-o. The sky was overcast, but we still got killer views. Not crowded at all and the temperature was perfect! Moments like this make me miss my home state.

Great morning hike! This is my first spring in Arizona; I couldn't be more impressed. The contrast between the red rocks and wildflowers is astounding. The majority of the draw is class 2 with sporatic sections of class 3.

I summited the Flatiron first, then the unnamed peak to the north. I began the hike around 7am and never saw anyone else on the summit. Yet on the way down around 10am I passed about 40 people heading up the trail. Moral of the story: start early or this place is a zoo!

Absolutely breathtaking views and scenery reward you once you climb to the flat top of this bad boy. Its arduous in that its practically straight up, but even though your thighs will burn, it will be well worth it

To date I have completed this hike/climb three times. The views from Flatiron are great! Highly recommend the hike. Even though it is close to the city, it is remote and difficult to access. Be Careful! I have a hiker/climber rescued out of there and it is a very difficult area to rescue somebody!

This was my first trip in the Superstitions. The views were great. The scramble up Siphon Draw was increadible. I not only did the Flatiron, but the 5,024 foot high point. I got stabbed by a yucca plant near the top comming down.
