A short, easy hike. Combined Audubon with Notabon, Paiute, Toll, and Pawnee for a nice loop, but the visibility was low for much of the day. Will have to return for the views!
Old Guide and I took on this peak as part of our annual father/son climb. I won't do a 14er on the weekend in summer so a 13er was the next best bet. A beautiful day!
Walked up the trail in about two hours. Continued along the ridge to Paiute Peak, then turned the descent from Paiute into a dicey adventure on steep snow.
Met Olivia at Ward, where we parked her car. Hiked up past Mitchell Lake and onto Audubon's thin, southeast ridge. There were 6 or 8 others on the summit before us. We then traversed the ridge over to the much less popular Paiute Peak. Great weather all day, with great views of Longs Peak and the Indian Peaks Wilderness.
A group of us climbed Audubon as "break" from our mountain bike trip. Spent some time in the Estes area biking before heading out to Fruita. Great trip and I really enjoyed this climb and the views.
Climbed with Shanahan96 and Jamie Nellis via the trail with a stop on "Notabon". We then continued on to Paiute. Fierce winds all morning had this one feeling more like early November!
