Up from Sylvia to Pyramid then along the ridge connecting Pyramid - Agassiz - Price. From Price down to Lyons Lake and then back to Sylvia. Way fun adventure of a ridge with overhangs, peaklets, knobs, pine labrynths, and views to absorb. Good times with J.A. Agassiz was the best part.

Date Climbed: Oct 12, 2008

right after the storm accompanied by the cold snap, stepped out of the car at Lyon's Lake TH to 31 degrees F and a cloudless day. 3-6 inches of snow on approach, some very crusty sections, frozen snowmelt streams with water seen running underneath (very trippy). LOTTA wind near and at the summit; summit block and the way up to it covered with snow, and my companions left for lunch rather than spotting me for the descent. good times.

The summit block is awesome, I love the way it hangs over desolation like a balcony...

aahzAwesome airy summit block  Sucess!

Climbed with Mt Price from Wrights Lake. I also got up to about 50 yards from the summit from the basin between Agassiz and Pyramid back in May, but we didn't have gear for the snow with us so we decided the summit wasn't worth the risk.

Bagged this with Kane on the way back down from Price. Cross country to Smith Lake where Kane fell and broke his arm. The views on this hike make it well worth doing.

I climbed this along with Mt. Price. This was a lovely fall outing/ramble. The little bit of class 3 on the summit is pretty darned fun! There is a snowfield just below the east side of the crest that looks like a mini-glacier, complete with crevasses and a morraine, yet I've never seen it described as such.

A Sierra Club outing. We decided to climb Mt. Price first via Lyons Lake. This route is better than ascending Agassiz from Sylvia Lake as one avoids ascending a steep screen slope. Elapsed time for both peaks was 8 hrs 40 min.
