| Great hike/climb up through the forrest. Had a family of bears trailing me by a few hundred yards in the early am. Thankfully they got bored! Great ridge climb and the lift made for a nice lunch seat! | |

| Got to love that tram ride up! But have hiked the lower areas, and played the frisbee golf course in the summer(not sure if its still there). The powder off the south face can at times be pure bliss, or ridden out and just moguls...Wait for powder days! The views from the top are absolutly Spectacular! | |

| A relaxing hour on top watching the sights and sounds. The Sphinx is one impressive looking mountain. Hey Brian and Molly, you're the first two I've ever seen summit a mountain in flip flops. | |

| The summit of Lone Peak is a skier's paradise on powder days. It is one of my favorite places to be when the snow is falling. I spend a lot of time skiing off of that thing with some very wonderful friends. | |

| I was at Big Sky with friends for a week of fabled Montana powder. Unfortunately it hadn't snowed in a week when we got there, and no new snow while there. Hard, crappy skiing for the most part. So I took a day to climb Lone Mtn, though didn't use the lifts. One can take the service roads around towards the south side (seems to be a snowmobilers paradise there), then it's easy to get onto the Southeast Ridge. I carried a snowboard to the summit, but didn't ski down the upper part of the mountain (after I watched another boarder biff it for 1,000ft on the hard snow and nearly killed himself). | |

| Ducked out of a less than exhilarating conference session and had a great trail run with Abdul Cherkaoui up through the ski area, through the big central bowl under the summit gondola, and up smooth SW ridges on gravel, talus, and blocks. About 2.5 hours to summit, 1 hour down, and some beautiful wild flowers en route. | |
